ADDITIONAL APA REQUIRED
What is APA?
APA stands for “Advanced Provisioning Allowance” in the context of yacht charters. It is a standard practice in the charter industry, especially for luxury and fully crewed charters. The APA is essentially a budget set aside in advance for expenses that are not included in the charter fee. These expenses typically include:
- Fuel for the yacht and its tenders
- Food and beverages for the guests
- Port, marina, and docking fees
- Any special requests by the charter guests, such as event fees, equipment rental, or exclusive excursions
The APA is usually calculated as a percentage of the charter fee, often ranging from 20% to 30%, depending on the specifics of the charter. Before the start of the charter, this amount is paid to the captain, who then accounts for all expenses, managing the budget throughout the charter. The captain is responsible for keeping all receipts and providing a detailed account of expenditures to the guests. Any unspent funds from the APA are refunded to the guests at the end of the charter, while any additional expenses beyond the APA must be settled by the guests.
This system ensures that the crew can provision the yacht according to the specific requests and needs of the guests, allowing for a highly personalized and seamless experience without the need for constant transactions or discussions about costs during the charter.
For a standard Regatta Black Lagoon 46 bareboat booking the APA is €3,000 per boat or €375 per person. This is due in cash before embarking. You will not be allowed to depart until your captain receives the APA. If you do not wish to deal with this, please opt for the all-inclusive option.
